Cuts over the eyebrow are common in contact sports because skin is pressed against bone; the brow should not be shaved before repair. Inability to raise the brow helps distinguish facial nerve palsy from stroke. Loss of the outer third of the brows can occur in hypothyroidism.

Pathology

Common Injuries & Conditions

Eyebrow Laceration

Splitting of skin over the brow ridge from a blow, common in boxing and other contact sports.
