Clinical Relevance

Clinical Notes

The transverse part is involved in the "bunny line" expression lines on the nasal dorsum. In cleft nose repair, the abnormal attachments of nasalis (both parts) are released and repositioned to reconstruct normal nasal shape.

Palpation

Seen as the muscle producing transverse nasal creases during facial animation.
