The hypothenar eminence is formed by ADM, FDM, and ODM. All three receive deep ulnar nerve innervation via the deep palmar branch in Guyon's canal.
| Origin | Pisiform, hook of hamate, flexor retinaculum (collectively) |
|---|---|
| Insertion | Proximal phalanx of little finger, fifth metacarpal (collectively) |
| Nerve Supply | Deep branch of ulnar nerve (C8, T1) for all three muscles |
| Blood Supply | Ulnar artery |
| Actions | Little finger abduction (ADM); Little finger MCP flexion (FDM); Little finger opposition — CMC5 rotation (ODM) |

Hypothenar wasting from zone II-III Guyon's canal compression affects all three muscles. Hypothenar hammer syndrome from repetitive impact damages the adjacent ulnar artery.
The ulnar palmar mass — palpated during resisted little finger abduction.
Ulnar nerve compression producing hypothenar atrophy with preserved forearm function, managed by decompression.
