Hamate hook fractures in golfers and baseball players avulse the FDM origin. Excision of the fractured hook with FDM repair restores function. FDM pain is reproduced by the hook of hamate fracture test.
Palpable as the central hypothenar bulk during resisted little finger MCP flexion.
FDM detachment from a fractured hook producing hypothenar pain and grip weakness, managed by hook excision and FDM reattachment.
