Function & Actions

ActionsDraws the brow medially and downward — produces vertical glabellar frown lines; The primary "frowning" muscle
Clinical Relevance

Clinical Notes

Corrugator is the primary target for glabellar botulinum injection — the first FDA-approved cosmetic botulinum use. Overtreatment causes medial brow ptosis. The supratrochlear nerve runs deep to corrugator and is the target for migraine nerve block. Corrugator transection is performed in endoscopic brow lift for permanent glabellar line reduction.

Palpation

Produces vertical furrows between the eyebrows during squinting or frowning — the glabellar lines.
