Clinical Notes

Round ligament bursitis is a recognised cause of groin pain in pregnancy, producing sharp unilateral groin or labial pain with sudden position change (round ligament syndrome). A bursitis component may contribute to the inflammatory nature of the pain. It is distinguished from inguinal hernia by the absence of a reducible mass. Management is conservative with rest and support.
