A small bursa between the distal brachialis tendon and the anterior coronoid process, reducing friction as the tendon inserts onto the ulnar tuberosity. It is adjacent to the bicipitoradial bursa at the radial tuberosity.
Brachialis distal bursitis contributes to anterior elbow pain near the coronoid process, distinguishable from bicipitoradial bursitis by its more medial location at the coronoid. Myositis ossificans from brachialis injury may develop in this periosteal region after elbow trauma. Anterior elbow approaches must identify both bursae.
Bursal inflammation between the distal brachialis and coronoid process producing medial anterior elbow pain reproduced by resisted elbow flexion in pronation.
